This week, our featured artist was inspired by the previous post, Julie Fordham. Julie passed Rich’s name along to me, and I’m tremendously excited to be featuring him and his organization, Art Is The Cure. Art Is The Cure helps people deal with pretty much any kind of problem imaginable as a positive release of pain and emotion through creative releases. Rich had this to say about how he got started:

Let’s face it: there’s no lack of talent when it comes to Jedidiah USA’s artists. This time, I’m featuring Patrick Maxcy, a guy with a serious passion for conservation of land and animals. The piece pictured here was painted by Brandi Stanley on 48″ x 24″ compressed wood with acrylic, spray paint, and Sharpie paint markers, at an event for Falling Whistles (http://www.fallingwhistles.com/). It has since sold, but I am offering commissioned pieces similar to it (at a price to be agreed upon), if you’d like to contact me directly to discuss sizing, changing the words on the sign, removing the whistles, or any other alterations.

Organization: Falling Whistles
A few months ago, I painted artwork live at an event for Falling Whistles, where the piece I painted ended up on Facebook. Somehow, in a move of social media magic, Ty Clark and I were “web introduced,” and I fell in love with his work. Turns out, he was showing at an event for Falling Whistles only a couple weeks later. Ty is CEO and founder of Veritas Fashion, a non-profit organization created to support humanitarian efforts worldwide through every form of art out there.
